Evernote is a popular online note-taking service that lets you remember things big and small from your life using your computer, smart phone, tablet and from the web. It has client for Windows, Android, Apple OS X but none for Linux systems.
And that’s where Everpad comes in. Everpad is a Linux client for Evernote. It works great and is fully integrated with Ubuntu Unity lens, indicator applet and unity launcher. The client Linux client supports notes, tags, notebooks, resources and places.
This brief tutorial shows you how to install Everpad in Ubuntu 12.10 and prior. It should allow to create notes and schedule event with Evernote.
To get started, press Ctrl – Alt – T on your keyboard to open the terminal. When it opens, run the commands below to add the below PPA.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nvbn-rm/ppa
Next, run the commands below to update your system as well as install Everpad
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install everpad
After installing, go to Dash and launch it, then sign in to authorize Everpad.
That’s it!
To uninstall install Everpad and its accompanying PPA, run the commands below
sudo apt-get purge everpad
Then run the commands below to remove the PPA you installed.
sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:nvbn-rm/ppa
