Create a Group in Discord Using the New Group DM option
To create a group in Discord using the group DM options, follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: New Group DM Option
Click on the New Group DM option in the top right corner of the Discord application.
Step 2: Select Friends
Now select the friends that you want to add to the group and click on the Create DM option.
Note: The people you want to add to a group in Discord should be your friends on Discord.
In our scenario, we have added three friends as shown below:
The group has been created and is displayed in the top left corner of the application.
How To Create a Group in Discord Using the Existing one to one DM
To create a group in Discord using the existing one-to-one DM, follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Add Friends to DM Option
Open the DM of any of your friends and click on Add Friends to DM in the top right corner of the Discord application.
Step 2: Select Friends
Now select the number of friends that you want to add to the group and click on the Create Group DM option. In our scenario, we have added three friends as we did in the previous method.
A new window will pop up and ask for confirmation. Click on Create Group to proceed further.
It can be seen that a new group is created and displayed in the top right corner of the Discord application.
How to Customize a Group in Discord?
Discord allows us to do customization in a group. After the successful creation of a group, we can now customize the group. Follow the steps given below to do so.
Step 1: Change the Icon of the Group
Right-click on the Group and select “Change Icon”.
Now select the image from your PC and click on Apply.
It can be seen that the icon of the group has been updated successfully.
Step 2: Change the Name of the Group
Click on the group name from the top bar as shown below:
Choose an appropriate name and type the name in the top bar.
The name of the group has been updated successfully.
How To Use a Group In Discord?
To use a group in Discord, follow the below-mentioned steps.
Step 1: Type a Message
You can type a message in the group to interact with your friends.
Step 2: Start a Voice Call
Click on the Start Voice Call icon in the top right corner of the group to start a voice call.
Step 3: Start a Video Call
Click on the Start Video Call icon to start a video call in a group.
Step 3: Pin a Message
To Pin a message, click on the Pinned Messages Icon as shown in the image below:
Step 4: Add Friends to the Group
To add more friends to the group, click on the “Add Friends to DM” icon as illustrated below:
Step 5: See Members List
To see all the active and non-active members of the group, click on the Member List icon. Similarly to hide the list, click again on the Member List icon.
