The XBMC team has just released the first beta version of 12.0 called “Frodo” which introduces HD audio support, Live TV and PVR support, improved image and support for Raspberry PI.

This brief tutorial is going to show you how install it in Ubuntu 12.10 and previous if you haven’t already done so.
To get started, press Ctrl – Alt – T on your keyboard to open the terminal. When it opens run the commands below to add its PPA.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/unstable
Finally, run the commands below to update your system and install XBMC
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install xbmc
