Here’s a quick update for VLC users. Version 2.04 has just been released and it comes with many enhancements and bug fixes.

This brief tutorial is going to show you how to install VLC in Ubuntu 12.10 via PPA. It should be quick and easy.

Objectives:

  • Install the Latest version of VLC in Ubuntu 12.10
  • Enjoy!

To get started, press Ctrl – Alt – T on your keyboard to open the terminal. When it opens, run the commands below to add its PPA.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:videolan/stable-daily

Next, run the commands below to update your system.

sudo apt-get update

 

Finally, run the commands below to install VLC and its components.

sudo apt-get install vlc vlc-plugin-pulse mozilla-plugin-vlc
