There are many ways to find your computer name in Ubuntu and we’re going to show you a few. The first method is by pressing Ctrl – Alt –T on your keyboard and typing the command below:

 

hostname

 

hostname_oneiric

 

 

Next, press Ctrl – Alt – L on your keyboard to lock your screen and you should find your computer name on the lock screen.

Finally, on the Logon screen, at the top left corner, you should also see your computer name.
