Google AdSense program is a great way for webmasters to earn some money for their content. I have used AdSense Ads on all my blogs online for sometimes now.
For others, AdSense isn’t a viable revenue stream so they opt for other services. Whether you a seasoned professional or just beginning, AdSense can help pay some of your website’s bills.
We used Google’s AdSense ads on this blog because they help us pay for hosting fees and other costs.
Without AdSense, we probably wouldn’t have lasted this long. Although what we earn now isn’t much as compared to few years ago, we still survive on it.
Our AdSense earnings have dropped over the past few years because Google released their Panda algorithm which impacted us negatively. We lost more than half of our web traffic.
We have done so much to recover our traffic but to no avail.
Although we saw few good signals that we were recovering, they all didn’t last long.
Every subsequent update kept pushing us far behind. Now we’re not making much, but we’ll still keep up what we’re doing here.
Those of our users that are using ads blocker programs are not helping as well. :)
Blocking third-party advertising scripts, including AdSense limit our earnings. Just saying.
The real reason I’m writing this post is to help webmasters in my shoes. Those webmasters who are just scrapping by and not making much. Those that write good tutorial for pennies.
What I’ve found is if you’re using AdSense ads units on your blogs, the best way to earn more money from the program is to stay with the default settings for your ads.
Don’t fall for tutorials that teach your how to tweak AdSense ads to earn more. Just follow Google recommendations.

The sizes we’ve found to be the most effective are the 336×280 large rectangle, the 300×250 medium rectangle, the 728×90 leaderboard, the 300×600 half page, and on mobile the 320×100 large mobile banner.
Stay with it and you’ll see your income grow over time.. Don’t forget to write great content as well.
Since resetting all my ad units to the default settings, my income has increased greatly.
