We’re done setting up our new virtual environment using VMware 12 Pro. We got our hands on a HP Z220  desktop machine with 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage.

It’s a great machine to use as a VMware host machine. We’re going to use it to host all our guest machines. Right now, we have a Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Ubuntu 15.10, OpenSUSE and CentOS guest machines.

We will use these guest machines as lab environments to test and write simple tutorials for our audience.

That’s what we do. Before writing our tutorials, we test each setup in our lab environments. After our tutorials are written, anyone.. whether new to IT or a pro, will find them easy to read and understand.

This is how we do it. Now, all of these cost money and time. Without our support and the support of Google AdSense, we wouldn’t have come this far.. so we want to say THANK YOU!

Right now, Windows 8.1 and 10 are installed and configured. Ubuntu, CentOS and openSUSE are all installed, configured and ready for us to begin testing.

Starting tomorrow and or sooner, we’ll begin writing new tutorials based on these operating systems.

We’ll delve into setting up Windows 8.1 and 10, explore Ubuntu 15.10, and show CentOS and openSUSE to our first time users. Users who already know how to setup these systems can skip and move on to more advanced tutorials.

Our goals here are to help users who are just starting with Windows and other Linux distributions. That’s why we write tutorials so everyone can understand.

We’ll also install WordPress and other content management systems (CMS) on these guest machine and show our users how it’s done.

From there, we’ll go into more advanced stuff.. like sharing files and folders with other distributions and operating systems, example… sharing Ubuntu files so users on Windows can view and access them.

Installing the LAMP stack as well as other server packages will also come later. This will be done on Ubuntu, CentOS and openSUSE.

For those starting new, after our first few tutorials, they’ll begin to understand appreciate our help.

Please stay tuned

Thanks!
