The mystery banner displaying tick, tock, tablet time is finally over. Canonical, the parent company behind Ubuntu has just unveiled a new tablet interface for Ubuntu. It is based on the codes that power Ubuntu Phone which is their key focus – convergence across all Ubuntu devices.

Unlike most tablet devices, this one is designed to have multiple secure user accounts as well as a guest account. It also comes with full disk encryption, making it a perfect device for environments concerned about protecting sensitive information.

Another feature called ‘Side Stage’ lets you place a phone and tablet app on the same screen at the same time, which is great for productivity. You can take a call while using Skype as well as take notes and surf the web.
