Here’s a one great new for Ubuntu users; Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal) now provides full disk encryption. Now when you’re installing Ubuntu, there will be an option available to you to encrypt the entire disk or hard drive. This is great new and one that we’ve been waiting for, for a long time now. Disk encryption will protect your files in case you lose your computer. It requires that you enter a security key each time you start up your computer.

So, starting with Ubuntu 12.10, full disk encryption will be available to you while installing.
