VideoLAN (VLC) just released version 2.02 that fixes a lot of regressions of the 2.0.x branch, and if you want to upgrade in Ubuntu 12.04, this brief tutorial is going to show you how.

To get started, press Ctrl – Alt – T on your keyboard to open terminal. When it opens, run the commands below to add VLC PPA.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:videolan/stable-daily

Finally, copy and paste the commands below to update your system and install VLC along with Mozilla-VLC plugin.
