Here we go again. Firefox 11.0 is out already and this tutorial will show you how to install it in Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) if you haven’t already done so.

You may not need to do this at this time, as Firefox will eventually get updated to version 11 in Ubuntu. However, version 11 isn’t available in Ubuntu just yet, and if you can’t wait to get updated, continue below to learn how to upgrade.

To get started, press Ctrl – Alt – T on your keyboard to open the terminal. When it opens, run the commands below to add this below PPA

 

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-mozilla-security/ppa

 

firefox_11_oneiric

 

Finally, run the commands below to update your system and install / upgrade Firefox.

 

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install firefox
