Windows desktop icons disappear or missing [solved]

Windows Vista and Windows 7 have a new feature that allows you to completely remove all icons from the desktop. I don’t know why would anyone want to do that but it’s possible.

If this feature is unexpectedly applied without the user knowledge, it can really be disorienting. Suddenly all icons on the desktop are gone and you don’t know how it happened.

When this is applied, users are unable to create files of folders on the desktop as well.

 

To fix the problem, right-click on the desktop then select –> View –> Show desktop icons.
