Yesterday we showed you how to browse with InPrivate mode using Internet Explorer. InPrivate mode is a feature of Internet Explorer that lets you browse the web and still protect your privacy. When using InPrivate mode with IE, your private data like search history, cookies and password are never stored. They are automatically deleted when you close your browser.

Incognito in Google Chrome behaves like InPrivate mode in Internet Explorer. When browsing the Internet using Incognito mode with Chrome, your pages, browser and search history are kept private and won’t be traced back to you. Cookies and other temporary Internet files are deleted when you close your browser.

This brief tutorial is going to show you how to start Google Chrome with Incognito mode always.

To get start Chrome in Incognito mode, right-click Chrome icon on the lower taskbar and select ‘New incognito windows’

Then add the –incognito command switch to the end of the line as shown below. It should be:

Click OK and you’re done. Now you must unpin the regular Chrome icon on the lower taskbar, then go to Start –> All Programs –> right-click Google Chrome and select Pin to taskbar to create a new Incognito shortcut.

You may have to do the same with the icon on your desktop.

Enjoy!
