Yesterday we showed you how to upgrade to Firefox version 11.0 in Ubuntu 11.10. Today I’ll show you how to do the same with Thunderbird. Both Firefox and Thunderbird are developed by the same folks so most of the times, they both get upgraded together.
Yesterday was Firefox and today is Thunderbird. Without wasting anymore of your time, let’s get going.

To get started, press Ctrl – Alt – T on your keyboard to open Terminal. When it opens, run the commands below to add the below PPA.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-mozilla-security/ppa
Finally, run the commands below to update your system and upgrade to Thunderbird
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install thunderbird
