[From Windows to Ubuntu] How to Change Your Profile Picture


This is another article in our ‘From Windows to Ubuntu’ series that  shows you how to change your account picture in both Windows and Ubuntu systems. Profile pictures are what you see on Windows Welcome Screen or Ubuntu Login Window before you login. Windows randomly assigns profile pictures when accounts are created and Ubuntu does not. This tutorial shows you how to add/change your profile picture in both Windows and Ubuntu systems.

 

Getting started:

 

 

Changing Profile Pictures in Microsoft Windows 7:

 

To change your profile picture in Windows, click on ‘Start –> then search for and select ‘change your account picture’

Finally, select from the many images shown and click ‘Change Picture’

Adding/Changing Profile Pictures in Ubuntu:

 

To add or change your profile picture in Ubuntu, select your ‘User Name’ from the top panel and click ‘About Me’

Next, click the blank image space next to your name.

Finally, choose from the many images shown and click ‘Open’

On Windows Welcome Screen you’ll see the new picture you selected.
