Install Thunderbird Latest Version (Shredder) in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat

Ubuntu Maverick ImageThis simple tutorial shows you how to configure Ubuntu Mozilla’s PPA so that Firefox Web Browser and Thunderbird Mail Client can be updated to the latest version when new updates become available. We have shown you how to install the latest version of Firefox in Ubuntu. This tutorial will show you how to do the same with Thunderbird Mail Client, codenamed (Shredder)  in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat.

 

Getting started:

 

To get started, go to Applications –> Ubuntu Software Center.

Then select ‘Edit –> Software Sources’

Then select ‘Other Software’ tab and click ‘Add’. Next, type the line below into the box and click ‘Add Source’ and close out.

Back into Software Center, search for and install thunderbird-3.3 (latest)

After installing, go to Applications –> Internet –> Shredder 3.3 Mail/News
