Setup Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat to Install Security Updates Automatically


If security is a top priority on your list, then configure your system to automatically download and install security updates and patches. Normally, you must first confirm that you want to install selected security packages before they are installed on your systems. Configuring automatic security updates, will remove the prompt and install patches as them become available.

 

Getting started:

 

To get started, press Alt-F2 on your keyboard, then type the command below:

gksu software-properties-gtk

securie_update_mav

 

Next select the ‘Updates’ tab and enable the highlighted field below and click Close.
