This brief tutorial will show you how to install Google Chrome (Chromium) in Ubuntu lucid or Maverick via PPA. Installing programs via Ubuntu PPA allows for automatic updates, upgrades and maintenance. If you’re currently using Google Chrome in Windows and want the same for your Ubuntu machine, then this tutorial should help you get there.
Getting started
To get started, go to Applications –> Ubuntu Software Center.
Then click Edit –> Software Sources..
Next, select ‘Other Software’ tab and click Add
Then copy and paste the line below in the box and click ‘Add Source’ , then close out and go back to Software Center.
ppa:chromium-daily/ppa
Back into Software Center, search for and install Chromium.
Chromium
After installing, go to Applications –> Internet –> Chromium Web Browser.
Enjoy!
Thanks for reading and please come back soon.

This article has the wrong title, you have just installed Chromium, which is not Google Chrome, but the open source project version, there are differences. If you want Google Chrome, just go to their Chrome download page and select the .deb file, and it will automatically update your repository list for you. You can if you wish run both on your system, as they install into separate directories and have separate config files as well. I use Chromium for testing and looking at the latest features and Chrome for when I want a stable browsing.
Thanks Swcodfather for the clarification.
One of the other differences which is biting me is the absence of the PDF viewer plugin in Chromium. The plugin is a very convenient feature of Chrome.
thnx
Great………………..!!!
