This brief tutorial will show you how to quickly install Adobe Reader 9 in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat. If Adobe Reader is your preferred PDF Viewer, this this tutorial will show you how to install it in Ubuntu Maverick.
Getting started:
To get started, go to Applications –> Ubuntu Software Center.
Then click Edit –> Software Sources…
Next, make sure the two lines below are checked.
If you don’t see the two lines above, then you must add them. To to that, click Add, then copy and paste the lines below one-by-one, and click ‘Add Source’
deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu maverick partnerdeb-src http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu maverick partner
Back in Software Center, type Acroread in the search box, then select and install Adobe Reader.
After installing, go to Applications –> Office –> Adobe Reader 9.

Worked great but I had to reboot my Ubuntu instance after installation to get the short cut to show up in the Applications menu.

it does not work,i do not have internet connection.i can’t also install the vlc player,so all i can use on ububtu is word processing.i can’t listen song and can’t view movies.i always needed help.i download tar vlc and wine files.but i can’t find the file to install.
