Terminator is a console program for Linux, including Lucid that lets you open multiple terminal windows from a single screen. The default console program that comes with Ubuntu is cool, but if you need something more advanced, then check out Terminator. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how install Terminal and begin working with multiple terminal windows at the same time in Lucid.
Getting started:
To get started, go to Application –> Ubuntu Software Center
Next, click Edit –> Software Sources..
Then select ‘Other Software’ tab, and click Add
Copy and paste the line below into the box and click ‘Add Source’
ppa:gnome-terminator/ppa
Back to Software Center, select the newly added PPA on the left menu, then select and install Terminator.
After installing, go to Applications –> Accessories –> Terminator
Right-click on the background then select ‘Split Horizontally or Split Vertically’
Now you can work with multiple items on multiple windows at the same time in Terminator.
Enjoy and please come back soon.
