By default, Ubuntu comes pre-installed with screensavers for your desktop. One thing that few people know is, there are more screensavers that are not installed by Ubuntu that can be enabled easily. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to enable more screensavers in Ubuntu Lucid.

Getting started:

To get started, go to Applications –> Ubuntu Software Center

Next, search for ‘xscreensaver-data-extra’ and click Install to install.

Go to System –> Preferences –> Screensaver

After installing xscreensaver-data-extra, there are more screensavers that get added.

There’s also a new screensaver added called ‘WebCollage’ that displays images of live searches online from site such as Yahoo, Google, Bing.
