This brief tutorial will show you how to add a custom wallpaper to your Windows Vista machines. As you made already know, Vista comes with pre-installed wallpapers, but if you want something other then the default, you can add as many of your own wallpapers as you like.
Creating Custom Wallpaper Folder:
It is recommended that you create a folder to store all your custom wallpapers. To create a custom wallpaper folder, click Start –> and type ‘Pictures’ and select Pictures from the list.
Right-click on a blank space and select New – Folder, then give the folder a new name.
Getting the Wallpaper:
Wallpapers can be added in many ways. You can upload photos from a digital camera, find an image online, or from a social networking friend. Whichever way you get your photos, make sure you keep it in the custom wallpaper folder.
Go and get the wallpaper from online or your camera and save it.. Right-click the picture and save as a JPEG or PNG file into the wallpaper folder.
Enter a file name for the picture and save it into your wallpaper folder.
Applying the photo:
To apply the wallpaper to your desktop, click Start –> and type ‘Personalization’ into the search box. Then select Personalization.
Choose Desktop Background and continue.
Click Browse to find your wallpaper.
Select Pictures from the left menu.
Select the wallpaper click Open to apply.
Click OK to apply the wallpaper
Your New background. I hope you like it.
This is obviously a long step, but it’s the right way to do it. You know where all your custom wallpapers are stored and can delete anyone at anytime.
