How To Install Ubuntu In Windows Vista With Wubi

This tutorial will show you how to install Ubuntu Linux 9.10 in Windows Vista like any other application. Wubi lets you install a full-fledge Ubuntu Linux in Vista like any normal application with a single click. This is a easy way to explore Ubuntu without changing your Vista settings or system configurations.

 

Once you’re done exploring Ubuntu in Vista, you can uninstall it as you would do with any application. This tutorial will show you how to do that in Vista.

 

Install Ubuntu via Wubi in Vista:

 

Power on your Vista machine and download Wubi Installer from here.

 

Click Run when prompted.

Here is where you configure the system to install. Enter the username and password for the system, Language, and Desktop environment. Once done, click Install.

Wubi is downloading the Ubuntu image. Make sure that your firewall port is open for torrent because Wubi uses torrent protocol to download the Ubuntu image. If the firewall port is blocked, the download will fail.

After your computer restarts, select Ubuntu from the boot prompt to start.
