How to speed up web browsing with Firefox and Speed Dial

Yes­ter­day we showed you how to use Speed Dial in Google Chrome to speed up web brows­ing. Today we’ll show you how to use the same Speed Dial exten­sion in Fire­fox to help enhance your web brows­ing by allow­ing you to quickly access your most used web­sites.

Speed Dial is a Fire­fox exten­sion which allows you to orga­nize your most used web­sites onto the home­page for quick access. It also allows you to vir­tu­ally browse your favorite web­sites with­out typ­ing a sin­gle web address.

 

 

To get started with Speed Dial, open Fire­fox and click Tools, then select Add-ons.

2) Type ‘speed dial’ in the search box, then press the Enter key. Next click the Add to Fire­fox but­ton to install Speed Dial.

3) Click the Install but­ton to install  Speed dial.

4) Click the Restart Fire­fox but­ton to apply the changes.

5) Check the boxes as shown below and save.

6) At this point, you’ll see blank boxes. These are place­hold­ers for your favorite websites.

7) To add web­sites, right-click on an empty box and select Edit. Next enter the web­site address in the box as shown below. When done click ok.

8) After adding some web­sites, this is how my look. A sin­gle click will take me there.

9) To edit the over­all lay­out of Speed Dial, click Tools –> Add-ons. Then select Exten­sions and click Speed Dial options.

Speed Dial is cool if you need to enhance your browser home­page. It allows you to quickly access favorite web pages with a sin­gle click. Enjoy it and come back soon.
